About FirstStop
FirstStop aims:
- to provide clear and independent information and advice on care and housing for older people;
- to be a sustainable service for the long term, supported equally by charitable funders, Government and commercial organisations;
- to grow in partnership with local services to provide an accessible service to all older people, their families and carers.
FirstStop Advice Line
The Advice Line is staffed by trained Advisors in each of the four partner organisations. Our Freephone number provides access to the specialist knowledge and experience of all four teams.

FirstStop website
This website will grow to provide a comprehensive source of information for older people, their families and carers. Its local content will gradually increase, and it will also provide a forum for older people to share their experiences of care with others.

FirstStop training programme
This aims to build the capacity of professionals and volunteers who work with older people to provide information about the full range of housing, support and care options open to them. Delivered by Care & Repair Enfland, it comprises both a regional programme of training events and a self-training module.

FirstStop working in partnership
FirstStop aims to work with local authorities and local agencies that provide, or would like to provide, housing and care advice services. We believe we have much to contribute, but do not have any rigid model of how we might add value in local circumstances. Our first newsletter illustrates some of the possibilities we would like to discuss.
