NHS Continuing healthcare

NHS Continuing Healthcare is a package of continuing care arranged and funded solely by the NHS. It can be delivered in any setting and can include the full cost of a place in a nursing home.

Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland

In Scotland, eligibility for NHS-funded Continuing Healthcare is set by individual Health Boards, based on national guidelines a copy of which can be downloaded from NHS Scotland by clicking here. In Wales, a National Framework is expected soon, in the meantime, the local health boards are responsible for local health services although much of the eligibility criteria is similar to the guidance published for England. In Northern Ireland, there is no guidance on NHS-funded Healthcare.
