Section 117 Aftercare
In England and Wales, if someone has been detained in hospital for assessment and treatment under sections 3, 37, 45A or 47 of the Mental Health Act 1983, aftercare services provided under section 117 of that same Act should be delivered free of charge and that can include the full funding of a care home placement.
