FirstStop local services
FirstStop Advice operates locally as well as nationally. This page is about our local partner services; click here to read about our national services.
Our local partners are organisations with which we have a contractual relationship that sets out how we will refer clients between us. All our local partners are non-profit organisations – some registered charities, some local authorities and an increasing number older people’s groups and forums.
Our aim is to ensure that all FirstStop clients can benefit from both national and local knowledge and expertise. And as well as having local knowledge, our local partners are able to meet clients personally, often in their own homes. Most can take on ‘casework’, which means ongoing help or support to individual clients who need this.
With their permission, FirstStop clients may be referred from our National Advice Line to a local partner service, or vice-versa, to ensure they get the services they need from us.
