Our plans for the FirstStop service

The FirstStop service is delivered initially via this website and our telephone Advice Line. The Advice Line service is now operating nationally, thanks to additional financial support provided by the Communities & Local Government Department (CLG).

Advice Line

Our target is to deliver a service to around 100,000 people a year within three years. We will use customer satisfaction surveys to monitor our performance and continuously improve the service, and develop ways of measuring the longer term impact of the service on older people’s lives.

Website

We aim to deliver a rich and informative experience to enable many users to access all the information and guidance they need, without having to call our Advice Line. We plan to create alternative ways of accessing information including ‘decision trees’, electronic books, searchable databases and interactive forums. We particularly want to encourage older people to get involved in informing and advising their peers, and we look forward to creating local FirstStop experiences with the help of local partner agencies.

Local partnerships

Our vision is to work in partnership with local authorities and local agencies to help create a network of agencies, each contributing their specific expertise, knowledge and methods of delivery into an integrated service, accessible through many outlets.
