Evidence from independent research into FirstStop

FirstStop has commissioned a series of independent evaluations to help demonstrate the quality and value of the information & advice services that we provide, both nationally and locally. Most recently KHC Consulting Ltd have undertaken an independent evaluation of our local FirstStop Housing & Care Options Services. We have also had extensive reports made by the Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research.

FirstStop Advice: An independent evaluation of local services

A newly published independent evaluation of local FirstStop advice services provides evidence of their value. The evaluation was undertaken by Kevin Cooper of KHC Consulting Ltd, and was carried out during July and August 2015. The evaluation made use of outcomes data from local FirstStop services and a literature review, including identifying unit cost and social value information. It also included 44 detailed semi-structured interviews with older people who had been provided with information and advice by a local FirstStop partner together with interviews with key local stakeholders.
