First contact schemes

First Contact Schemes are local collaborative referral projects which aim to ensure that people can access services which will allow them to live safely and well at home. During 2013-14, EAC worked with members of the Age Action Alliance to research the geographical coverage of existing schemes and their impact.

Outputs from this work are:

  • FirstContact Schemes: Extent & Impact Report: provides a detailed picture of all 35 current schemes.
  • Directory of FirstContact schemes: an online resource that provides a a description of each of the First Contact Schemes. (This is now an integral part of EAC’s Home Services Directory).
  • A VIDEO to help those interested in developing FirstContact schemes to understand how they work and the issues to be considered when setting up a scheme.
